We are a small show/breeding kennel in the South East of England

We are Ann and Robert Waters and we live on the South Coast. Our love of dogs started when we were both very young. Ann trained as a Canine Beautician and worked at 2 large show kennels, breeding and showing Cavaliers, Poodles, Bassets and Afghans. We have been involved with dogs all our lives.

Together we owned Dobermanns for 26 years. Before we lost our last Dobie in November 2000 at the ripe old age of 15, we had decided to have a quieter breed, that didn't require so much exercise.

We had frequented the Bulldog shows for several years, having always been enchanted with them. We had learnt much about this wonderful breed and decided that it was the breed for us. Enter Albert and Aggie, from Sylvi Walters Slavemaker kennel, our introduction to the wonderful world of Bulldogs. Little did we know that Bulldogs would take over our lives completely!

We belong to the Kennel Club Accredited Breeder scheme and as such abide by their code of ethics. All our dogs are DNA tested and health screened. We are interested in the welfare, health and breeding to the standard. We are Kennel Club Affiliates and members of The Bulldog Club Incorporated, The British Bulldog Club, Junior Bulldog Club, South of England Bulldog Club, The London Bulldog Society, Eastbourne & District Canine Society and Ann is an active committee member of the Hastings, St Leonards & East Sussex Canine Society.

Our affix ' Cholto ' was granted to us in July 2000. Our previous affix ' Arkhill ', that we inherited from Ann's parents had lapsed. Our logo was designed upon Ann's maiden name Fletcher. The central logo is the family clan badge. ' Alta Pete ' is latin for ' Aim High ', that is our aim for the future, to produce the highest quality puppies we can, excelling in health, conformation and temperament.
